Book Review: Marriage Pact by M.J. Pullen

Book Review By: Dr. Essence Robinson

Aside from the occasional grammatical faux pas (duplicate/misused words and misplaced text), the Marriage Pact by M.J. Pullen was enjoyable because it was relatable.  Before choosing this eBook from the Kindle Owner Lending Library, I read the sample/synopsis, as well as other reader’s reviews.  Many readers seemed far too hung up on the fact that the main character, Marcella Thompson (Marcie), had a relationship with a married man before a series of unfortunate and fortunate turn of events which led her to true love. This novel is not about the quintessential “home wrecker,” but of the life of a woman entering her 30’s and trying to make sense out of her life amongst work, love, family and friends. Naturally, one might be angry with the opening arrangement, but with each turn of the page you fall in love with the struggle and may even find some of yourself reflected in Marcie and the decisions she must make.
